I received my M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2000 and my Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2007 from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. Currently, I am a leader of two research teams at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, in the Dependable, Embedded Systems & Software (DEEDS) Group: Dependable WSN Team, and P2P Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

My main research interests include the area of Dependable Mobile Data Management, Wireless Sensor Networks, Participatory Sensing, Body Sensor Networks for HealthCare, Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, Mobile Transaction Processing, Peer-to-peer, and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

I lead the activities for a DFG GK project and for a national research center on IT security (Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt - CASED). I am a Co-PI of the FP7 projects INSPIRE, INSPIRE-INCO, CoMiFin and CoMiFin-INCO as well as FP7/ARTEMIS INDEXYS.

I am a member of the IEEE, ACM, GI, SCS and ACS.
